Employment Development Services are designed to help employed individuals with disabilities maintain competitive, integrated employment wherein they are getting minimum wage with equal benefits. This program can also offer assistance if the client wishes to be self-employed and establish their own business in the community.
Under this program, the services offered include the following:
- Assessment to determine the client’s strengths and locate employment opportunities that complement their skills and interests
- Provide skills training in preparation for employment, like resume writing and practice interview
- Support and assist once the client starts a new job position
- Help negotiate and finalize terms of employment
- Help determine the type of business the client wishes to establish and support throughout the business development process
